"A serious Nanami video. Not one of the original October Project
songs I was considering, but I really like the way it turned out."
"I just loved this piece of music as soon as I heard it, and the
second VPM OAV is my favorite of the four, so it seemed like a perfect
match. I cut this one in about 3 hours."
"This is the only video that I know of set to Windaria. It's such an
old show and a lot of the newer anime fans have never seen it. I'll
warn you, it's somewhat depressing, but the show is depressing too,
so what can I do?"
"This is one of my favorite songs by this group. I have ideas for 2
more October Project/Utena videos, so who knows, maybe someday it will
be a trilogy."
"One of the comments about music videos is that your favorite song and
your favorite anime don't necessarily make for a good mv. Well, the
NOIR soundtracks (all 3 of them :) are currently my favorite songs,
and CCS is by far my favorite anime, so I thought I'd put them
together. This is the result."
"It was a bit intimidating to try and do a Nadia video, given the
wonderfully high precendent of the Hairston Nadia Trilogy of music
vidoes, but I like this one a lot, and it received applause,
a handshake, and a 'good job' from Hairston-sensei himself,
so I think it was worth the effort.
"It also won 'Best Romance' at AWA in 2000."
"Thanks to Chris Terrell for his help on this video."
"My first music video started out after watching too much Ranma1/2,
and reading too much Ranma1/2 fan fiction. I began to notice that
Ranma plays up the girl act a little too well..."
Those of you who have seen FLCL, a 6 OAV anime from Gainax, know how
truly weird and warped it really is. My point in making this music
video was to make that anime look "normal", and I really like the way
it turned out. Thanks to Kyo for the DVD source. Thanks to Patryn
for the RealMedia file.
"I tried making an instrumental music video, and at first i thought
it would be a lot harder. However, it turned out to be easier for
me than matching lyrics with anime scenes."
Unfortunately the band November Project is no longer together, and
the CD that this song was taken from is not available any more.
"A Black Rose arc video. Premiered at Project A-Kon 2000 Music Video
Showcase. Likely Kanae's first music video appearance (for more than
a few seconds anyway." :)
"[My] first three videos were partly inspired by Marc Hairston's
Nadia Trilogy.. All three videos have the same singer, but different
animes. This first video suffers from rather poor quality footage.
The best I could get was some often watched AMG dubs.."
"It took me 2 years to want to see this anime again after seeing
it for the first time, it affected me so much. When I did watch it
again, it was to create this video. My intention was to make a music
video that people, whether or not they had seen this anime, would not
mind watching more than once. Please let me know if I succeeded."
The Utena Movie, while having very little to do with the plot of the
TV series, is really beautiful to watch. I've liked this U2 song for
a long time, and one day it just clicked that it would work with a
lot of those incredible scenes from the Utena movie.
"This is another instrumental piece, the intro song to the Playstation
game Wild Arms. I noticed a striking similarity between this song and
a certain Lupin III movie. It just begged for an AMV."
"First off, I didn't like this anime. That's why I had to make
a music video, just to get it out of my head. This video is not
particularly violent, unlike a certain AMV set to Music Box Dancer. It doesn't show
violence directly, just the after effects."
"I was looking for a series that no one had been using in AMV's to provide some variety..
I had been listening to celtic music a lot, so this song seemed
a perfect fit to Mononoke Hime.>
CardCaptor Sakura is my favorite anime, and I enjoy watching the
relationship between Sakura and Yukito. Please note: if you want to
see the majority of scenes used in this video, you will not find them
on the "Cardcaptors" DVDs/VHS - you'll have to watch the real thing:
CardCaptor Sakura. For a totally biased anaylsis of these shows,
please check out my CardCaptor
Sakura vs. Cardcaptors fansite.
"My first spam video. :) My favorite shot is the
oh-so-serious expression on Pikachu's face."
"The story of a lady just tryin' to make a career change."
NOTE: The original version of this video was made with a sample copy of a professionally subbed version which was shown at a Canadian film festival. That fan-made music video was actually completely finished before the film was professionally released to theaters in Japan! Later, after the film had run in the theaters and the LD was released, a few of us bought copies of the LD and the video was remade from that source, to improve picture quality and remove the subtitles.
WARNING: Perfect Blue is an intense
psycho-thriller, and a darned good one. Graphic, both violently
and sexually, it is a work of cinematic art made to be theatrically
released to a fully grownup audience, and is absolutely not for small
children! That is the spirit of the movie, and that spirit has been
preserved in this music video.
"This is my homage to fandom in all it's frightening glory."
"Won 2nd place at ShoujoCon 2000. Don'tcha just love editing?" ^_-
"My first Utena video, inspired by discussions that there should be
a slap counter for this anime. Well, how about a slap video instead,
ne?"
"My second video, created very soon after the first one,
has a bit better footage, but still a few shaky scenes.."
"Made especially for my boyfriend to capture the true spirit of this
anime. While this video is nice and somewhat bland, if you know the
context of the scenes, and listen to the lyrics, I hope you cringe."

I am not a fan of the original Vampire Hunter D, and while the
trailers I had seen looked cool, I wasn't that interested in seeing
the new movie Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust. But I borrowed the DVD from
my friend Patryn, watched it, and really liked it. The visuals are
incredible, and there are so many obvious great scenes featuring D
that are perfect for a mv ... none of which I used. ^_^
"I only like 2 Backstreet Boys songs, and this is one of them. I used
the first Kenshin TV DVD (Ruroni Kenshin - Lengendary Swordsman), and
a Japanese import LD of the movie which is a recap of the whole
series. So if you're buying the professional releases, you're
going to have to wait a while to see some of the scenes." ^_^x
"The idea was given to me by my tomodachi, St. Zero."
"My second music video is a more serious one. I really liked how the
India theme in the song complemented the Tibeten feel from 3x3 eyes."
"This is the first AMV
where I actually had good footage to work with. I got a VHS master
of Five Star Stories from my friend St. Zero, who has
the LD."
"My third music video came about after I was given raw footage of
the show Tenshi Ni Narumon. (Thanks Kyo!) I liked it so much that I
convinced one of the heads of video at AnimeFest to show it unsubbed
at the con. When we showed it, people began to wonder what kind of
drugs the animators were on when they made it..."
"I'm not that fond of rap music, but this is my one exception.
Composed of over 120 edits in 2 minutes (no, Dorothy, we're not in
linear-videotape land any more. :) The song goes on for
about another minute and a half, but this was meant to be a short
piece."
